Privacy Policy

Last updated June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how North Channel Tallow Co. (the “Site”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our website.

The information we collect

When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the Site, and the information needed to process your purchases. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for support. We refer to any information that can identify you as “personal information.”

Device information. Such as your browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, the pages and products you view, and how you interact with the Site. We collect this automatically using cookies and similar technologies, to load the Site correctly and to understand how it is used so we can improve it.

Order and account information. Such as your name, billing and shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number. We collect this from you to:

  • Fulfill your orders, process payments, and arrange shipping.
  • Send you invoices, order confirmations, and account updates.
  • Communicate with you and screen orders for potential fraud.
  • With your consent, send you marketing email about our products, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to provide our services to you. That includes offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfilling your order, supporting you, and, where you have opted in, keeping you up to date on new products and offers.

How we share your information

We share your personal information with the service providers that help us run the store and fulfill our contracts with you. We do not sell your personal information. Our key providers are:

  • Humanik Technologies Inc. — our technology partner, which builds, hosts, and operates the platform on our behalf (including data storage on its managed cloud infrastructure).
  • Google Firebase — secure database and storage for accounts, orders, and related data.
  • Stripe — secure payment processing. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Mailgun — delivery of transactional and contact-form email.
  • Shipping carriers (such as Canada Post) — to deliver your order.

We may also disclose your personal information to comply with applicable laws, to respond to a lawful request for information, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored within the platform’s production database and managed storage operated by our technology partner. North Channel Tallow Co. remains responsible for your personal information and uses commercially reasonable safeguards to protect it.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of information stored on your device when you visit our Site. We use functional cookies (for example, to remember what is in your cart and keep you signed in) and performance cookies (to understand how the Site is used). Cookies make your experience smoother by remembering your actions and preferences.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can usually accept, block, or delete them through your browser settings. Please note that blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. This is done in aggregate and is not used to make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. We do not currently run third-party targeted-advertising programs; if that changes, we will update this policy.

Children's privacy

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Retention

When you place an order or create an account, we retain your personal information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase it. We may keep certain information where we are required to do so by law (for example, tax and order records).

Your rights

North Channel Tallow Co. is the organization responsible for your personal information. We handle it in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct, update, or erase your personal information.
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please reach out through our Contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your local data-protection authority.

Do Not Track

Because there is no consistent industry standard for how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not currently alter our data-collection practices when we detect such a signal from your browser.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The most current version will always be available on this page.
